Happy St. Patty's Day

We enjoyed a gorgeous day outside playing.  Emma, Maria and I went to walk around the Rec Center and play on the playground there.  Emma enjoyed painting the driveway and playing with our neighbors.

Well it's been awhile since I update anything on the website because I got sucked into Facebook.  Wink

We are all doing well.  Emma is enjoying school to the fullest and is going for a preschool screening on Monday.  Maria had her 9 month checkup and is doing well.  She started crawling and getting into everything.

I had a scare about two weeks ago.  I woke up with a pretty bad headache, but just figured I needed my morning Diet Pepsi.  Next thing I knew I could only see clearly in a small circle in front of me.  About 10 minutes later, I couldn't feel my left arm and the left side of my face.  Luckily the doctor got me in quickly.  Matt was able to come home and go with me.  Mom and Dad came over to watch the girls.  The doctor was pretty sure it was a migraine, but ordered a MRI to be on the safe side.  All came back clear on the MRI and now we just have to figure out the migraine part.  I have only had 1 more since then so time will tell I guess.

I am officially starting the path to a healthier me and have Matt on board to make it a family effort.  I joined a Step-n-Sculpt class at the Rec Center for a couple of reasons.  One to get into better shape so I am healthier for my girls.  Two to get some Mommy time without worrying about the girls.  I love being a stay at home mom, but after a year I finally realized that some Mommy time would be a good thing for everyone (maybe I won't snap so easily).  I had my first class tonight and I think I am going to be really sore tomorrow.

I also was thinking of signing up for Weight Watchers online.  Matt had done this when I was pregnant with Maria and it seemed to be a pretty useful tool.  While he was using it, he was losing weight.  When he stopped being accountable for what he put in his body the weight loss seemed to halt.  So I did a little research and came across a blog where someone talked about The Daily Plate.  I looked up some information on it and it seemed to fit the bill for me like the Weight Watchers online, but was much cheaper.  It is through livestrong.com.

Well we finally made the family trek to go visit Santa at St. Claire Square.  Emma has been so excited about it lately.  She even had to call both Memaw's and let them know that she heard them singing about Santa on the radio last Saturday.

We were very shocked when we walked up because there was no line waiting for their turn for Santa's lap and eager ear for the Christmas wishes.  I walked up with Emma and Maria.  Emma was really shaking and starting to get upset.  I sat Maria down right next to Santa and she proceeded to freak out.  She was screaming so hard that her face turned beat red.  Of course this sent Emma into a tantrum.  However we were able to calm them both down and get a family picture with Santa.  Emma did tell Santa that her Christmas wish is for a Blue and White Airplane like at Memaw's house.  He asked her if she was a good girl and if she helped mommy with her sister and her and I both told him that she has been.

There would be a picture here, but the people that took it apparently ejected the Jump Drive before the picture was fully loaded on it.  It wouldn't be a big deal had we not paid for it.

Emma, Maria, Schatzi and I made a trip up to see the Bleckiner family at my Aunt Linda and Uncle George's in Frankfort.  We had a good visit.  Maria and Sarah played with each other very well.  Hannah and Emma were very excited to see each other and only created a little trouble.  Jennifer and I took Hannah and Emma to Choo Choo Johnny's.  They really liked that and the food was really good.  Some time after we got back the two of them found a pair of nail scissors and used them on each other.  We noticed a ton of hair all over Emma and couldn't figure out why.  Well the bedroom floor was covered in hair and Emma has a short spot.  We almost died from laughter.

I started this with the good from our trip, but also want to ask for thoughts and prayers for Sarah again.  Unfortunately the last few days she has started having spasms again.  I am copying a note in that Jennifer wrote because she is better at explaining what is going on.  I can't really put into words the emotion that I felt after Jennifer told me they were back.  Thank you in advance for all the thoughts and prayers.

Love, Amanda

Jennifer's Note:

Well, Sarah has begun having spasms again. The neurologist had told us that if she was going to get them again, it would probably happen before she turned a year old. Since she's about 2 weeks from her birthday, wouldn't you know they'd turn up again! We are currently in IL, visiting my Mom and Dad. We came down so I could go to the ASHA convention. The neurologist increased her seizure meds and is ordering an EEG to be done in Marquette when we go home. We are going home tomorrow. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks. Love, Jen :)

If I have time or am in the car with the girls and not listening to a DVD, then I listen to WIL92.  I really love their morning show crew and sometimes they make me really laugh.  Well I didn't actually hear this on the radio, but was browsing their site when I came across a lullaby that a listener called in with.  I thought it was adorable.  Now I just have to commit it to memory so I can sing it to my girls.  Someday maybe my grandchildren like my Grandma Wrench did with me.   My brother and I stayed with my Grandma and Grandpa Wrench when we were little depending on my mom and dad's work schedule.  My Grandma always sang "That Little Girl of Mine".  I'm sure she probably changed the lyrics and sang it to Adam as "That Little Boy of Mind."  I sing this one already to my girls and about made Lisa Delgado cry when I sang it to Emma when we were on a car ride and Emma got so upset.  It always calmed Emma down when she was tiny.

Well that's enough blabbing.  Here are the lyrics to both songs.  There are more lyrics to "That Little Girl of Mine" but this is all I remember my grandma singing to me.

The Alphabet Love Song

"A," you're adorable
"B," you're so beautiful,
"C," you're a cutie full of charms.
"D" you're a darling and
"E" you're exciting and
"F" you're a feather in my arms.
"G," you look good to me
"H" you're so heavenly,
"I" you're the one I idolize.
"J" we're like Jack and Jill
"K" you're so kissable,
"L" is the lovelight in your eyes.

"M," "N," "O," "P," I could go on all day.
"Q," "R," "S," "T," alphabetically speaking, you're OK.

U," made my life complete
"V" means you're very sweet,
"W" "X" "Y" "Z"

It's fun to wander through the alphabet with you
To tell you what you mean to me.

That Little Girl of Mine

A tiny turned up nose
Two cheeks just like a rose
So sweet from head to toes
That little girl of mine
Two arms that hold me tight
Two eyes that shine so bright
Two lips that kiss goodnight
That little girl of mine
No one will ever know
Just what her coming has meant
Because I love her so
She's something heaven has sent
She's all the world to me
She climbs upon my knee
To me she'll always be
That little girl of mine
