Whew!!!  What a crazy weekend we had.  We packed up Thursday and headed to the stay with the Ganvik's.  It was really nice to see them as well as the Lampe's.  Emma had a great time seeing the horses and really loved playing with Stefan and Mason.

Friday night was Mom C's 60th surprise party.  Emma was so excited about it all day long.  As soon and her Memaw walked in she was off running to get hugs and kisses.  We had a nice time at the celebration, but I feel like I hardly got to talk to anyone.  Hopefully we can visit with everyone we missed in the near future.  Maria was occupying a lot of my time.

Saturday Emma wasn't feeling good and we had our first upset stomach.  She handled it pretty good and said she had to "spit" when she felt it coming on.  As she started feeling better, she really enjoyed playing with her cousins Katie and Cameron.

Sunday Emma got to play with her cousins before they headed to the airport.  She was very sad to see them leave.  It was also a big day for Daddy and I because we left Emma with her Memaw and Papa C until we see them next weekend.  It will be the first time Daddy and I will be away from our big girl for more than 1 night.  Memaw C has lots of fun stuff planned for them while she is up there, so it will definitely be fun for Emma.

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001.

Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said. 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .

I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.

Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.

Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.  But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you . But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Update on Sarah.  Our prayers have been answered.  Thank you all again for your prayers.

We are excited to say that we had good news yesterday!!  Sarah had an EEG on Thursday this week, and the Neurologist from Grand Rapids called yesterday morning.  He said that there are NO signs of the hypsarrhythmia (infantile spasms) on the EEG!!!!  So, she is able to stop going in for the ACTH injections today!  She will be on Prednisone to help wean her system off of the ACTH for 3 weeks.  She will also stay on her other medications for now.

Needless to say, we are thrilled with that news! :)  Dr. DeRoos did say she still is exhibiting some epileptic discharge on the EEG, but he feels the other seizure medication she's on should help with that, and he's not too concerned about that at this point.  The biggest thing is that the infantile spasms are gone, and her little brain can be on the mend. :)

Sarah also had her Early Intervention evaluation yesterday, and they will be coming next week to follow up with a plan.  They figure she's about 3 months behind on her skills.  That is about what I had guessed.  It will be great to have the physical and occupational therapist help get her back on track!  It doesn't hurt to have a Mom as a SLP as well!

Thanks again for all the incredible support with prayers, phone calls, cards and just overall being there for our family!  It means so much to feel that when things are hectic. :)

Hope all is well with you.  Take care.

Love, Jen :)

I have such a hard time thinking it has been 3 full years since our precious Labor Day angel Emma made our family grow from two to three.  I can't believe how fast it has gone by.  I didn't realize how much that little bundle of joy was going to change our lives and she changes us every day.  I think we laugh a lot more than we would without her in our lives.  She always has something funny to say.  Like telling us "I smell like pie" or every time she says "Oh My Goodness sakes" which she picked up from her Memaw C.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl.  Mommy and Daddy Love You Very Much

September 1st, 2008

What a busy weekend in the Caminiti Household.  Mom & Dad C came down on Friday and graciously picked up Autumn on their way.  Emma couldn't wait to see Autumn and talked about her all day on Friday.

Saturday morning we headed to Portrait Innovations for Emma's 3 Year pictures and Maria's 3 Month pictures.  I can't believe how fast the time is flying.  While everyone was here we got a big family picture taken.  On our wedding day the photographer took a great picture of Matt and I with both sets of parents.  Well now that our family includes two beautiful girls, I really wanted to get a picture to replace the wedding picture on the mantel with everyone again.  We also got some great pictures of Autumn.  We even got Great Memaw to get a picture with her Great Granddaughters.  She doesn't like it, but I love it.  Wink

Sunday we started getting things ready for Emma's birthday party in the afternoon.  We had good intentions of going to church with Mom and Dad C, but Schatzi awoke the household very early and Emma was very crabby.  So, Emma was sent back to bed and fell asleep thank goodness.  She was not crabby for her party.  Emma has been really into Ariel lately, so we had a very Ariel birthday party.  It was Ariel every where you looked.  We had lots of fun with family and friends.  Emma got a lot of fabulous gifts.

Thank you everyone for the great gifts for Emma.
